Pt 4 - Spatial planning

I looked into existing sites of water on Lanzarote, it became clear that water is a scarce resource for islaners. The main source of water for vegetation comes from mist carried by trade winds.

In the past, a giant mist-intercepting tree provided drinking water for the island population.

Material considerations

Today, there are mist-capturing nets situated at the top of the Famara cliff that captures 3L of water per day per square meter.

These nets are currently purely pragmatic, with the potential to develop architecturally, which led me to look into construction systems of tensile structures.
